I can never blame anybody for worrying, and I can never act like it’s unusual to “not worry” in a world like this, because I’m not an alien…I know that this earth, daily, presents us with “billions of reasons” to worry.
But we are commanded to “not worry”, and like I like to say: “we don’t take orders from the world or our flesh; we get our orders from the Bible…from God.”
So the mission of this post is very simple (of course). In a world where we can’t help but be forced into countless opportunities to worry, how do we not worry?
Simple Answer: Have Faith in God… START PRACTICING THE ACT OF HAVING FAITH IN GOD.
Hebrews 11:6 tells us:
“But without Faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whosoever would come to God must (necessarily) believe that God exists and that He is the Rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him (out)” (AMP)
The reason we still “worry” has nothing to do with God; it’s because we have refused to rest in the simplicity of God’s word…to trust God…to literally walk upon the waters, when He bids us “come.”
God can be trusted! He’s been, absolutely, faithful from the days of Genesis…He always comes through for all who put their trust in Him…but for some demonic reasons orchestrated by the devil himself, in collaboration with our flesh…we just can’t seem to believe that God can be trusted, even when we know, without doubt, that He can be trusted. There are several scriptures that affirm God’s faithful towards us…from Mathew 6: 24-34, to Proverbs 3:5, to John 14:1, to 1 John 5:14-15, to Joshua 1:9, to Isaiah 26:3, to 2 Corinthians 4:18, to Psalm 125:1, to 1 John 5:14-15, to so many other scriptures.
There’s nothing wrong with asking for help or seeking counsel among the wise, the Bible even advises us to do so…but it is best when God directs your path, that way you’re sure He’ll not direct you amiss. When you have an issue you should, always, first, go to God in prayer…stay in His presence and make sure you have His peace about the next thing you want to do… don’t allow anything, place or thing replace God in your life…don’t.
Step upon the waters, and believe you can walk on it…if for some reasons you start sinking, He’ll reach out and grab you. When you’re scared, FIRST, go to God to feel safe. When you’re sad, FIRST, go to God to feel joy. When you’re nervous, FIRST, talk to God about it. When you’re in sorrow, FIRST, cry to God. When you’re confused, FIRST, ask God to help you… if you think you can’t hear Him…wait and wait and wait… one thing I can assure is: if you make room for God, He’ll show up…He’s not rude…so just keep making room for God to show up in your life…He will.
“Lean on, trust and be confident in the Lord with all your heart …He will direct and make straight and plain your path” Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP)
“…blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river and shall not see and fear when heat comes, but his leaf shall be green; he shall not be anxious and careful in the year of drought, nor shall he cease from yielding fruit” Jeremiah 17: 7-8 (AMP)
It’s understandable that God don’t always show up the way we want Him to show up…but…He’s God…He created everything, and knows everything… means He knows better.
Do you have children around you? Can you remember the tantrums they threw when they didn’t get what they wanted? Can you remember how you laughed at their ignorance because you knew what they wanted so badly wasn’t good for them? Well, don’t be like a child… Trust God.
Have Faith in this truth: He knows…and He loves you.
“He who did not withhold or spare (even) His Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all (other) things” Romans 8:32 (AMP)
The devil always wants us to see God as the bad guy. But listen:
God can NEVER hurt you.
God loves you more than you love yourself.
God gave you His best, before you ever turned His way.
God wants you to always, always, always, always… always be in the company of His Peace, Joy and Love.
The devil always tries to mess with our perception, we Christians. He wants us to see God on the other side of the table, while we’re on this side. Don’t shoot your arrows at God. He’s not the enemy…He can’t be the enemy. He’s on the same side of the table with you…if you move to the other side…He’ll move with you. He can NEVER leave you nor forsake you…no matter what, that’s a promise we see in Hebrews 13:5.
As simple and familiar as this might sound and look, it holds the power to help you tune out of this earthly realm and tune into the heavenly realm…and stay tuned there, while still on earth. Yes, you’ve read about it. Yes, you’ve heard it so many times and counting…but do you practice it? When was the last time you waited, only, on God and see Him come through for you?
It should comfort you that God loves you more than you can ever love yourself. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that God will never allow what He knows we can’t bear come our way…meaning: if it comes your way, God has already seen that it will only make you better, but not kill you, isn’t that super-cool? Well, I believe it’s way beyond super cool… it’s a platform to REST on…and just chill…
As Christians, we’re on earth to establish the Kingdom…God’s kingdom.
Yes the world has several “ways to not worry”, but we know we can’t trust the world to feed us, and the generations after us. God’s way will always be the absolute solution…and it is on us to make God’s way go viral…but how do we make it go viral when we don’t have a firsthand experience ourselves…and how do we have a firsthand experience when we read and hear what the Bible says…and don’t care about what the Bible says and just keep doing life the way we feel…WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE CAN NEVER TRUST OUR FEELINGS WHEN IT COMES TO LIVING THE LIFE CHRIST HAS CALLED US TO LIVE. Our feelings, naturally, don’t want to do what God will have us do.
People are dying before their time…and sadly, they’re all not going to heaven. Many are living in fear. Depression is now a global concern. The beautiful colours of life seem to have disappeared. Sadness here…pain there…everywhere you turn there’s something that seem to ask “has God left the earth to itself…to suffer in ruin?”
God hasn’t left…He has an army on earth that is supposed to establish His will on earth, through the help of the Holy Spirit.
We’re the army…me…and you…we that have accepted Jesus as Lord. We are the ones that are supposed to establish the will of God upon the earth. We’re the ones that are supposed to bring solution to the problems that are prevailing in our society.
The reason we must practice what the Bible preaches is way beyond just us. There are so many persons that will benefit just because we say, and keep saying yes yes to God….your family…friends…and everyone within the world God has placed you…will all benefit from your obedience. They’ll see your life, they’ll ask questions…they’ll see results…they’ll see light in and through you…they’ll recognize the handiwork of God in your life, and eventually you’ll be showing them the way of the kingdom…God’s kingdom…knowingly or unknowingly.
“Worry” won’t stop coming our way…but we can decide to ignore it when it comes…YES… we can.
I don’t believe there’ll come a time in this world when we’ll have less things to worry about…I believe it will only increase…so how old are you? Are you planning on dying anytime soon? Are you planning on leaving earth to another planet?
Had to ask,
Because,
If we are ALL going nowhere, then we have to start learning how to deal with things that won’t change. Deal with it…let the devil watch you deal with it. When it seems like you’re failing…get back in the scriptures, meditate on God’s promises to you…get your fight back on…and deal with worry.
I also like to say: “God is not angry with your baby steps… because He created it.” He knows that mastering the baby steps will help us develop the strength and energy we need to make giant strides. Don’t leave out “small worries”… they’re a good start to train your muscles…when you see God come through for you in areas that don’t really matter, it gives you the confidence that a God that is so interested in the little…will, definitely, be interested in the BIG things that can make or mar you.
When we worry we go against the command of God…and that is sinful
When we worry… we complain…then we condemn…and we’re sad…and angry…and then we want to pay back someone or something. Can you notice something in all twist that runs in the thread?… the Bible is totally against ALL of them…the Bible warns us against complaining, condemning, sadness, anger, vengeance…against ALL of them…and any other that belongs to their clan. This should tell us something: we should be deliberate about eliminating “worry”… whenever it shows up…no matter the degree.
I know it’s a cliché to ask; “has your worry changed anything?” but this is a good cliché to hold unto…PAUSE…and ask yourself what has worry ever done for me? It, TRULY, doesn’t change anything. In fact, when we worry we’re leaving in sin. Yes, it’s a sin to worry…and when we worry we stand on a good platform to make bad decisions that we’ll end up regretting. So… why worry? When we know too well that nothing good can ever come out of it?
We are commanded to ask…to pray about our worries
“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstances and in everything by prayer and petition (definite requests) with thanksgiving continue to make your wants known to God” Philippians 4:6 (AMP)
We complain about so many things and then we totally leave out the aspect of praying about it… “The city is dirty”… “My friend didn’t do that right”… “Nobody understands me”… “That sister in church talks way too much”… “He’s getting too fat”… “I want this”… “I’m desperately in need of that”… “Nobody cares”… but have you prayed about any of these?
And by the way,
Prayer isn’t just crying and complaining to God out loud, and then leaving His presence, as soon as you’re done with your monologue …that’s not anything close to what prayer should be about, especially when you need Him to come through for you. you have to stay before the Lord and meditate on His word… thank Him for what He has done for, and will continue to do for you…worship Him for all He is, and is to you…tell Him your concern…allow Him talk back to you…ask Him for wisdom…allow Him show you the right path…and just get so soaked up in a sweet communion with Him…
And you should get in His presence, not just for when you worry…but every single day…that way you’ll naturally eliminate most of the things you worry about… and get to see that most time all you really need do is…stand, and shut the devil up!
Also at this point,
I’ll like to say:
When you’re praying for a particular worry, pray for everyone, somewhere, that is fighting your kind of “worry”… pray for them, with the same passion you’re using to pray for yourself…pray that they’ll also receive their miracles… their Peace…their Joy. It will surprise you to know how many persons are going through what you’re going through…or going through worse. So pray…and spread your prayers to the ends of the earth. Someone, somewhere, don’t even know they’re supposed to pray, because they don’t even have a relationship with Jesus…and there are still those that have a relationship with Jesus that can’t make it to the place of prayer anymore…pray for them…yes, your prayers for them counts.
Dear one,
It is with a deep seated desire, to see you…to see me…live “a-worry-free” life, that I write this…
I need you to know and start believing that…
With the help of the Holy Spirit… it’s easy… and very possible… to not worry…but trust God…and just…
REST.
