Good Sowing…Great Harvest

Most times we just get weary in doing good…because it seems our good doesn’t benefit us, as much as it benefits others.

You’re always the one saying “sorry”, even when you’re standing in the right…even when you’re the offended. You try not to raise your voice at people, and they take it for granted. You try to obey the rules and regulations, and not jump fences, but you end up looking like “the very fool.” You go against your emotions to love the one that hurts you. You didn’t have the energy and stability to show up for the event, but you did anyway, because you just want to put a smile on someone’s face…but then your efforts are unknown and, painfully, unappreciated. You’re overlooked. You’re ignored. You’re insulted.

So you say things like:

“You know, if God’s love will always wait on me, then it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to let this colleague, that’s just so evil, suffer a little bid”… “It wouldn’t be, entirely, wrong to just raise my voice at this person, for always making me mad”… “It wouldn’t be too harmful, if I just ignore that girl in church”… “I can just skip the ideal thing today… “Well, it’s not always easy to keep up with all these”… “We all make mistakes.” “That’s why we have Grace, after all.” “God understands.”

And we just don’t say these things in our hearts; we allow them play out in our reality. We just feel like we’ve been committed and consistent for a very long time…faithful, loving, gentle…and so we can just take a little break. We’re always going to get back on track, for sure. We’re not leaving the Jesus way, not at all. Just a little break…

But the relationship we’re called into is not one that wants us to get these little breaks…it is a relationship that reveals a better version of ourselves, as we spend each day on this side of eternity. It’s a relationship that draws us closer to the likeness of Jesus, as we go through the mountains and valleys with Jesus.

There are several reasons why we should hold onto the values and essence of this relationship, no matter what. Topping the list is: “because it is the best relationship there is”, but that’s not the point I’ll be using to encourage us today…there’s another…and it’s:

There’s no “good sowing” that won’t yield “great harvest”…more importantly, there’s no “great harvest without a “good sowing”

Simply put: there’s a heavenly reward for every time you get pass your feelings and do what God will have you do…a heavenly reward for here on earth…and later, on the other side of eternity. You see the whole award giving idea that is a big deal in every industry and firm? That God’s idea; men got it from Him. God is a good pay master. He sees all your efforts. He understands that most times it’s not always what comes naturally for you to do. He sees how you refused to lean on your human strength, but on the Holy Spirit. He sees how you desire to do His bidding. He sees how you sincerely ask for help…for Grace…to obey Him. He knows…He sees…He’s aware…there’s a blessing with your name on it.

Galatians 6: 7-9 says:

“…for whatever a man sows, that and only that is what he will reap.

For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction; but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap life eternal, And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” (AMP)

When we quote verse seven of Galatians 6, we most times use it to tell someone that’s doing wrong to understand that his pay day is coming…but verses eight and nine make us to understand that the pay day that’s coming is not just for the “wrong doer” but also for the one who is sowing to the Spirit.

So, to you, dear one, who is sowing to the Spirit…your pay day…is coming.

Most times we can’t understand how, where and when the blessing will come…but that doesn’t change the truth that tells us: “God knows; God rewards.”

If you keep looking at the weather…you won’t sow

At this point I’ll have you know that the devil is aware that there’s a blessing waiting on the other side…at the end of God’s commands…when obedience is completed. I don’t believe he knows how much the blessing is, but I know he knows the Giver of the blessing…he knows that when it comes to us, God can be, outrageously, excessive. So, he’ll try his best to make the realm he has power in (the physical) to never be favorable for us to live for Jesus. But let me show you what the Bible reveals to us:

“He who observes the wind (and waits for all conditions to be favorable) will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap” Ecclesiastes 11:4 (AMP)

So we can never wait for comfort and convenience. No, we can’t. We have to step out and sow regardless. We have to understand that the weather is not the determining factor, but what God will have us do.

So, get pass “I don’t feel like it” and “it doesn’t feel like the right time”… and get your seeds in the ground. Water them, take out the weeds… and let your seeds thrive. Don’t wait for the person to become nicer, before you decide to start loving the hell out of the person and loving the heaven into the person. Don’t wait for when you feel your pride is safe, before you decide you’ll admit your wrongs. Don’t wait for when you have all of the energy, before you decide to lend a helping hand. Don’t wait for when your emotions are together and stable before you decide to get into the presence of God… don’t wait for when it’s just perfect and comfortable and convenient, before you yield to God’s Grace to help you do what God will have you do.

Take the world away…make it a deal between you and Jesus

Dear,

People can be “annoyingly” annoying, including you…and of course, me. Having spent the years I’ve spent on earth, I’ve come to understand that we all have different values, and we all view life differently. Hence, it is only natural to annoy each other.

Events and places can be heart-breaking too. They can leave scars that will want to make us quench our fire. They can make us wish we were never born. They can creep into the secret parts of our hearts and dig a hole that hurts badly, but…life wouldn’t be complete without them.

So push this world away, refuse to allow it choose your choices for you…and just make life a journey between you and Jesus, and let every other thing in and around your world benefit from/because of the relationship you have with Jesus. Let Jesus, truly, be “at the center of it all…from beginning to the end.” Let it be His orders. Let it be for Him. Let it be because of Him. Let it be to Him. Let it be around Him…let it be ALL about Him, that way the world and all its demons (manifesting through men, places and things) will become insignificant in your life.

That way, you’ll love that person you believe deserves your fury furnace. You’ll not let your situation affect the convictions you’ve gotten from the place of Bible study and prayer. You’ll have a reason greater than what you feel physically.

When we make the deal of surrendering ALL and EVERY to Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to our aid. Never put confidence in the flesh: You can’t make it on your own. You, truly, have to surrender completely to Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to help you…He will, if you let Him.

Our harvest is so much greater than what we sow

When we sow four or five corn kernels, we harvest at least a cob covered with corn kernels. Harvest is way higher than what was sown. This should get you super excited. The Bible tells us:

“Give, and (gifts) will be given you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will they pour into (the pouch formed by) the bosom (of your robe and used as a bag). For with the measure you deal out—that is, with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others—it will be measured back to you” Luke 6:38 (AMP)

Sow and keep sowing, understanding that your harvest is not only a certainty, but a certainty that will be way greater than the seeds you’ve sown. sow love…sow peace…sow joy…sow kindness…sow tenderness…sow a smile…sow a warm hug…sow honesty…sow fair judgment…sow compliments…sow gifts…sow forgiveness…sow gratitude…sow hope…sow availability…sow understanding…sow authentic friendship…sow, sow, sow, and sow again… and sow yet again…sow to the Spirit…sow as unto the Lord…and wait on Him, alone.

You’re sowing in your field…harvest will definitely come, and it will come bigger and greater.

God, Himself, protects our harvest

The bible tells us:

Do not gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal;

But gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal” Mathew 6:19-20 (AMP)

It’s easy for thieves to invade our farm lands here on earth and do away with our harvest before we have the time to go for them, and this can leave us in devastation. We’ll remember our labour and it will cause us to weep, because we believe our labour has been in vain. But you see; it can’t happen when it comes to God’s kingdom. When we sow as unto the Lord, we’re sowing into His kingdom, that means we’re storing treasures in heaven, and God, Himself, protects our harvest. Our harvest can’t get into the wrong hands. It can’t be a burden. It will come in and on time. We’ll enjoy it…so much so; we’ll recognize that it can only be God.

Be rest assured that God can’t be confused about your harvest, and He won’t withhold it from you…no matter what. He’ll bring it to you, in due time.

1 Corinthians 9:7 says:

“…who plants a vineyard and does not eat any of the fruit of it?” (AMP)

Smile…

It’s easy to get weary in doing good…good here means: what God will have us do at each moment and time. But, whenever the devil brings the weariness your way, no matter how real and hard it hits you, just SMILE.

SMILE because God sees…and He knows.

SMILE because He has given you all it take to keep going on the right track…the track He has prepared for you.

SMILE and plug back into God’s Grace, and do allow the Holy Spirit help you…that He’s job…He’s your Helper…let Him help you.

SMILE because you know that someday, you’ll stand before a Holy God and it will be beyond rewarding for Him to look you in the eye and say: “well done, you upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant.”

Get in the gym,

Receive strength daily, and do…

Stay Spiritually Fit.
