If you mean nothing, why is the devil trying so hard to make you believe you’re nothing?
Who goes to a mad man, over and over and over again, to say, “You’re mad!” Who looks at a dirty piece of rag, and tries to convince everyone that the rag is a rag? Who, repeatedly, fights with everything to get nothing?
The devil is defeated but he isn’t dumb. If the devil is trying so hard, over and over again, to make you believe you’re nothing and can do nothing, that’s your special sign. It’s a special sign that shows you’re a BIG deal, hence a GREAT threat to the devil.
It isn’t God who is trying to make you feel awful. Do a self-check, if you can change it in a snap, you’ll want to feel and do better. The only reason you’re giving up is because you feel powerless to change your circumstances. So, it brings us back to the devil, again. This is not me trying to empower the devil. This is me trying to make you understand that you’re feeling so bad about your life because of the most unimportant factor in the entire equation—the devil.
If you’re going through any struggle or pain, I want to encourage you to hang in there, and trust that God is too faithful to leave you in the pain and struggle. We go through trials and persecutions to get our faith strengthen, we don’t go through trials and persecutions to get our faith broken. I know, it’s hard when a season is taking too much time to move from what you can’t tolerate to want you truly desire. I know, probably because that’s exactly how I feel, as I write this. We have to understand that the gift of breath in us is a sign that God isn’t done with us yet.
You’re everything the devil is trying to make you believe you’re not…and guess what? You’re so much more than he’s trying to make you believe you’re not.
The devil is called the father of lie and liars (SEE John 8:44). That means he is the number one liar is the entire creation. When you trace the origin of lies, they begin, and interestingly enough, end with the devil.
That said, now, what is a lie? A lie is the exact opposite of the truth. That means everything the devil tries to tell you is the direct opposite of the truth. So, if he makes you feel like you’re worthless, that should tell you that your worth is bigger than anything you can ever comprehend. If he tells you it won’t happen, it means your breakthrough is closer than you think.
Have you noticed that whenever you feel so down and bad, you, at that point, find it hard to believe anything the Bible says about you? Have you really taken your time to notice that? There are so many beautiful promises from God to His children, yet when you, as a child of God, feel bad, you find it hard to see eye-to-eye with what the Bible says about you. Who do you think is the mastermind behind it?
Again, the devil is the most unimportant factor in your life, giving him a space in your heart and mind to grow a beautiful garden of lies is just crazy. The devil doesn’t deserve such attention from you. Uproot and burn those lies. Grow another garden, one full of God’s truth. Trust me, when you burn the devil’s lies in your heart and mind, the negative feelings will change. When your feelings change, they’ll change your words and actions. Your words and actions will change your life.
Here’s something you should never forget: whenever you start feeling bad and down, and the exact opposite of what God’s Word says about you, know the devil is sowing lies in you. Don’t just unearth the devil’s seeds, intentionally sow God’s Word…because God’s Word is your only true definition. The truth you know about God’s Word is who you are. Nope, I didn’t say that right. You’re way better than that truth you know. Your mind’s eyes are too limited to see, at once, how much of a God’s masterpiece you are, even with the help of the Holy Spirit. Stay with the Word, the revelation of who you are will keep getting bigger, and better.
My prayer for you and me:
May our hearts and minds come alive, because we see and believe God’s truth, even in the face of devil’s lies. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
