God Loves You

Here are some simple questions that aren’t so simple

Do you believe that there’s a God who owns the entire world, and that He loves you? Do you believe His love for you is unconditional? Do you believe that His unconditional love for you is forever? If your answers are “Yes” then why yes? Why are you sure? You shouldn’t just say “Yes” because you’re afraid to say “No.” I know you know the Bible says He loves you. I also know you know that the Bible is the Truth. Nonetheless, do you really believe all the Bible says about the love of God for you?

God’s Word is the Truth, and nothing can ever change that, but it doesn’t always feel that way to us

You can see a truth in God’s Word that do not match your experiences in life. When you do, God doesn’t want you to see it and just get moving, without pausing to think and ponder on why what is in the Bible contradicts your personal experiences. Our heavenly Father isn’t like that. He isn’t offended by our questionings and interrogations. I’m not a mom yet, but I have nephews and nieces I really love. When I work with them, when they are trying to create a birthday card for their grandma, or when we are trying to cook a meal together or just hanging out and doing something together, I don’t get angry when they ask questions that will help them understand things better. In fact, when they don’t ask questions about things I believe they don’t understand but should understand, I get uncomfortable, and I try to draw their attention to it. When I become a mom, I believe I will only get better at how I deal with children. So, I can only imagine how God wants us to relate with Him.

Yes, the Bible says God loves you, but if you don’t really believe it, you need to sit at God’s feet and get a personal revelation about God’s love for yourself. It is not the mere knowledge of God’s Word that transforms ourselves. It is the understanding of God’s Word that moves us from where we are, to where we are supposed to be…and then to the next level, and the next, the next, until we reunite with Jesus in heaven.

We cannot grow in our walk with Jesus, if we don’t get a deep revelation and keep getting deeper revelations of God’s love

Don’t just have a head knowledge of God’s love, get and keep getting a personal revelation of God’s love for you. It will help in your walk with Jesus. When you understand how much God loves you, it will transform your walk with Jesus, and as the understanding of His love gets deeper and better, your walk with Jesus gets deeper and better. Have you seen what is captured in Ephesians 2:17-19? Here it is:

…may you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, that you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints (God’s devoted people, the experience of that love) what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [that you may really come to know]— practically, through experience for yourself — the love of Christ which far surpasses mere knowledge (without experience); that you may be filled (through all your being) unto all the fullness of God — [that is] may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself! (AMPC)

This is how it works. If you know how much you mean to God, you’ll know that He is your ally, no matter what. When you become so sure of His faithful towards you, you’ll always turn to Him, no matter what. You’ll also trust that His instructions, no matter how ridiculous they might look and sound, are for your good. So, I dare say, if you are finding it hard to obey God, it is because you don’t really know how much God loves you. If you get a revelation of God’s love for you, obeying Him will become easy. If you are finding it hard to forgive like God says to, if you are finding it hard to let go of things that aren’t promoting righteousness in your life and your space, if you find it really difficult to break an ungodly habit…PAUSE, ask yourself, “Do I really know how much God loves me?” PRAY, ask God to reveal to you how much He loves you. MEDITATE on scriptures that talk about God’s love for you. A revelation of God’s love is a powerful lubricant that makes your walk with Jesus flow easily. Desire that revelation and understanding of His love, until it becomes so real to you.

God’s love leads us from the bad and leads us into the good

The reason God leads you from things that aren’t pleasing to Him is the same reason He leads you towards things that please Him. What’s that one reason? Answer: LOVE. The way God leads you away from things that gratify the flesh is the same way He leads you into your glorious destiny in Christ. Same coin, different sides. Therefore, it becomes funny when we question God’s love for us because we aren’t getting what we want from Him, yet are very reluctant to move away from things we know aren’t godly. We want to keep indulging our flesh, but we also want a glorious walk with Jesus…these two can’t coexist. Galatians 5 : 17 says, “For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Holy Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh…for these are antagonistic to each other— continually withstanding and in conflict with each other…” (AMPC). Our flesh and spirit are sworn enemies. One has to go, and it has to be the flesh. The flesh won’t make it easy for you though, but there’s a way to win the flesh. It is through a revelation of God’s love for you.

My prayer for you and me:

May the eyes of our understanding be flooded with God’s light. May we experience God’s love, like never before…and may that experience keep getting better. Amen.
