A few days ago, I was strolling on the streets of Instagram, when I stumbled upon a beautiful photo of a female model. The photo looked unfiltered (I might be wrong though) and the first thing that caught my attention was the flawlessness of the model’s skin. Her skin was really glowing, so much so, it was very difficult to overlook…or maybe it was just about me. Maybe it was difficult for me to overlook, and if that is the case, I know the cause. I have been paying close attention to S K I N.
I haven’t had much to pamper and glow my skin like I would really love to, but like never before, I’m so intrigued about the healthiness of skins. I want to know about it. I love to listen to conversations about it. I get super excited about healthy skins when I see them, and that model’s skin couldn’t escape my admiration. I was all “wow” and “whoa” about her skin and I just couldn’t help but appreciated the effort of the woman wearing the skin. My admiring thoughts soon slipped into thoughts of, “What it Takes to Maintain a Healthy and Glowing Skin Like Hers.” I found myself silently asking questions like, what is her skincare routine? How consistent is she with the routine? It is difficult? It is not as difficult? What products goes into that skin? How many products go into it? Are they overtly expensive? Or just averagely expensive?
The thoughts about that beautiful photo followed me into my quiet time. For reasons I want to believe were divine, I found myself asking myself how awesome it will be to have all of who I am in the spirit be so visible and beautiful in the physical realm for everyone to see and admire. Where I don’t have to meet people physically for them to appreciate the glory of God I’m enclosed in. The thought was so lovely and desirable; I had to turn it into a heartfelt prayer. I prayed so passionately, and I had a conviction that I have stepped into a higher dimension with God. Just writing about it, the feeling is so real, and I just want to encourage you to step-up too.
God’s Love
The love of God is a force that is seen, heard, felt and even perceived but can’t be explained to the fullest. Its overwhelming and unconditional attributes are beyond mind-blowing. I have read it about it in the Bible. I’ve read and listen to what others have to say about it. I’ve had personal experiences about it, I still have experiences about it, and will definitely continue to have experiences about it, but I still believe that there is so much to God’s love. The best way to explain it is: because we can never understand God to the fullest; we can never understand His love to the fullest.
God loves us so much, thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus. Who is the “us” though? Just Christians? Of course, no. The popular John 3:16 clearly says “For God so love the world…” Christian or not, God does love you, unconditionally. Nonetheless, there are folks in this world that aren’t experiencing His love. Some don’t even believe He exist in the first place. They are loved, but they aren’t living in the fullest of that blessing. They are loved, but they aren’t enjoying the benefits that come with that. It is the same with some Christians. Christians have been translated into the kingdom of God, but some aren’t living in the fullest of that blessing. They are loved and empowered , but aren’t enjoying the benefits that come with God’s love or exuding the power they carry on their inside. This isn’t God’s will for us.
I explained all of the above in other to simple say that we can have God’s unconditional love and still live outside of God’s will and plans for our lives. God can never withdraw His love from us. So, we can be soaked in God’s love and still say and do things that grieve the Holy Spirit.
We can have all the resources, time and energy but still not take care of our skins…but models know better. They know their skins are important in their career, and so they disciple themselves to commit to the skin routine that will keep their skins healthy and glowing.
We are God’s Models
Having a healthy and glowing skin is highly recommended, but that’s not heaven’s focus. The “activeness” we give our spirits is what the kingdom of heaven is interested in.
We obtained perfect spirits when we confessed our sins, believed that Jesus died for us and accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. But our spirits can remain inactive if we don’t let it come alive in the physical. When you sow into your spirit, your spirit comes alive. When you sow into your flesh, you silence your spirit (this isn’t God’s desire). Can we commit to the routine? Can we upgrade our current routine? Can we sow and continue to sow into our spirits? Can we allow the Holy Spirit help us glow, righteously, from the inside out? Can we commit to God like never before? So, when people see us, they see an extension of God and all He represents. Isn’t it going to be beautiful when people “wow” and “whoa” over our lives because of the glory of Jesus covering us? Well, that is God’s desire and perfect will for us, and no matter the level you are in your walk with Jesus, there’s more than enough room to step-up.
Can we get BETTER? BETTER means growth…and God wants you to keep growing. God wants you to keep getting BETTER. It begins with a sincere decision…and Grace takes over.
Here are some truths about us from the Bible:
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:13-14 (NIV)
“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 (BSB)
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.” 1Peter 2:9 (AMPC)
“For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.” 2Corinthians 2:15 (NKJV)
My prayer for you and me:
May we embrace all of who we are in Christ Jesus, and may our lives show forth all of God’s glory, like never before. Amen.
